We’re really sorry, but our workshops are only available in French. Please feel free to join us anyway if you’d like to find out more about acting!

About the workshop

Description

In this workshop you’ll learn essential lighting techniques (stage electrics, optics, wiring, and calibrating equipment); lighting techniques that meet artistic constraints; and basic theory, combined with the practical application of skills. We’ll break down the process of artificial lighting so that you understand all the elements at play and how they interact during set-up. The training space is a darkened room, allowing you to work on lighting. To be as close as possible to the real world, the final exercise will involve participating in one of the season’s shows, during which you’ll control the lighting and help set up and take down the set. At the end of the season, you’ll have the opportunity to work on light design for one of the next season’s shows.

Intended audience and dates

This workshop is intended for anyone who:
– would like to expand their personal skills and get a start in stage lighting;
– has some basic knowledge in lighting and would like to improve their skills; and/or
– would like to get an introduction to the vocabulary of set design and stage lighting.

There will be 8 meetings from October to May. Specific dates will be set in collaboration with participants.
